I need to find a way to support my bamboo wind chime habit. Why are they so expensive and so fragile? These are the only two that are still in good shape with all their chimes.
Blog, journal, guided tour. Photos, videos, notes. To do lists, accomplishments, notes to myself. Welcome to my garden.

Pond/Waterfall
When we designed the pond, we made a deliberate decision that we didn't want a rambunctious roaring waterfall. We wanted a relaxing background noise that could be enjoyed from the adjacent patio. The groundcover plants are still filling in, especially on the near side, so some of the black plastic still shows, but the landscape in this area is gradually maturing. I wish videos from my phone did a better job of capturing what can actually be heard in my yard, but you get the idea. In reality, the birds are not as prominent, but in videos, they seem nearly ear piercing to me. And in this particular video, if you notice a mechanical droning sound in the background, it's actually a tractor plowing about 1/2 mile away.
Nothing interesting happens after the first few seconds (watch for the crazy fish), it's just noise. :)
Bamboo Windchimes
The paddle fell off of this one, but it still sings - it just takes a little more wind to do it.

To Do List
First broken windchime of the season already. I wish they'd attach the chimes with something a little sturdier than cotton string.

Yard Work
Tools of the trade, cart full o' weeds, clematis and pansies, organic seed starting mix by the crateful, mystery alien plant, irises, pergola and windchimes, iris, blackberries, more irises, greenhouse, strawberry, plums, scottish broom, dianthus, heap of mulch (to do list), what's left of my beautiful rugosa rose, his and hers garden decor, basically a ramble around the yard. ;)

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things...
I'm working outside this evening, listening to my only two remaining sets of bamboo windchimes, birthday gifts from my mother from the past two years. I only buy the cheap ones, because they don't last more than a season or two in the weather no matter how expensive they are. My usual supplier seems to be paring back on inventory, so hopefully I can find some more soon. We didn't buy any the past few seasons since they weren't in the "layoff budget" but now we're recovering slowly but surely and I need more bamboo windchimes to keep me company!
On a related note, how come so many places carry metal ones, when I only want bamboo??
